Posting A Shift

Shifts must be 3-10 hours long and can be posted up to 2 hours before shift start time for last minute fills. Here's how:

Access New Shift: From any screen on the Ideal portal, click on the "+ New Shift" button below the Ideal logo in the upper left corner.

    • Alternatively, select "Schedule" in the right-side bar and then click "+ New Shift" in the upper right corner of the schedule screen.

  1. Select Location:
    • Ensure accuracy and clarity by reviewing and, if necessary, updating arrival instructions, shift manager details, and point of contact information. These fields are designed to auto-populate based on the information provided when adding your locations, ensuring seamless coordination and communication
    • Click "Next" to move to the next step.

  2. Enter shift details:
    • You can request up to 15 Ideal workers with each "+ New Shift" posting. Customers requiring more than 15 workers will need to post the same shift twice.
    • Select the job that needs to be performed from the top drop down box. Ensure description and attire requirements align with this specific shift opening. If they do not, it would pose a risk to an unprepared Ideal worker and your satisfaction with our service. Create a new job or contact support if you need to edit an existing job.
    • You can enter hourly wage to the penny. If you would like to pay above or below the range listed for a job, you can create a new job with a different hourly range. Make sure to differentiate the new job's title if similar to an existing job and remember this is the job title that will appear in our worker marketplace app.
    • Click "Next" to move to the next step.

3. Enter Scheduling Details:
    • Specify the date and time of the shift. A single shift can be up to 10 hours but no less than 3 hours.
    • For shifts 6 hours or longer, allow ideal workers a 30-minute unpaid break (timing not dictated by the portal).
    • If needed for a longer period, consider breaking it into multiple shifts or contact customer support for assistance.
    • Click "Next" to move to the next step.

  4. Review & Post or Save as Draft Posting:

    • Review the shift details for accuracy. If edits are needed, click "Back."
      • If the map view of your shift is not populating be sure to check "upcoming" shifts in the Schedule tab to make sure it went through.
      • If issues persist, contact the support team.
    • Click "Post Shift" in the upper right corner to publish the shift to the marketplace.
    • You can access draft shift postings from the "Drafts" tab on the Schedule screen/page.
