Policy
You are expected to arrive prepared and on time for the shifts you accept. You are also expected to remain at work for the duration of your shift, except as otherwise required by law or where permitted by an on-site client supervisor. Failure to comply with this Policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Performance Strike System
Workers will be issued performance strikes for specific violations, as detailed below. Accumulating three strikes will result in automatic termination from employment. Strikes will be removed 30 days after incurring them, as long as no additional strikes were received during that time frame. If an additional strike is received during the 30 day period, the 30 day timeframe for the initial strike will be reset to 30 days. This means that the oldest strike will remain active until 30 days have passed without any additional strikes being issues. Workers have the right to dispute a strike. To do so, they must contact WorkerSupport@ideal.com for review.
Violations and Associated Strikes
The following actional will result in the issuance of strikes as outlined:
- No Show: 2 strikes
- No Show for 1st Shift: 3 strikes (immediate termination)
- Late Arrival or Early Departure: 1 strike
- Missed Clock Ins/Outs: 1 strike
- Late Cancellation: 1 strike
- Negative Shift Feedback: 1-2 strikes, depending on the severity of the feedback
Tardiness and No Shows
You will be considered tardy if you are more than 10 minutes late to a scheduled shift. Further, you will be considered a “No Show” if you are more than 30 minutes late to a shift and you did not cancel the shift prior to its start time. For additional details about cancelling a shift, please refer to the “Cancelling Shifts” section below.
In the event you arrive at a shift after the “No Show” period, you may be asked to leave the worksite. “No Show” workers who are asked to leave the worksite and do not perform any work will not be paid for the shift except where required by law.
Nothing in the policy will be interpreted to provide for discipline where the absence or leave is because of a protected ground. No discipline will be issued for conduct or absences protected by any federal, state, or local law. Ideal will excuse any absences protected by federal, state, and local laws, and will consider them on an individual basis. It is your responsibility to inform Ideal of any protected reasons for an absence.
Ideal Workers are required to follow the established punch policies for recording their actual hours worked. Work cannot begin until the posted shift time, or the start of other compensable time. A missed clock in/out is a violation of this policy, results in a strike, and includes:
- Failure to clock in/out within the Ideal app at the beginning and/or end of their assigned shift.
- Failure to clock in/out on their designated time clock for the meal break.
- Failure to accurately and timely report time worked.
- Clocking in/out early (or late) of assigned shift without prior approval.
