Performance Score Policy for Workers
Policy Overview
This policy establishes a standardized scoring system to monitor and promote consistent, high-quality performance among Ideal workers. The score serves as a tool for recognizing reliability and identifying areas for improvement.
Policy
Each employee will have a performance score ranging from 0 to 10. This score will be assessed based on work performance and adherence to company policies. Employees start with a score of 8 upon their initial onboarding.
Score Breakdown:
- Score 8 (Starting Score): All new employees begin with a score of 8. This reflects the company's trust in their ability to meet the standard performance expectations.
- Performance Improvement: Employees can improve their performance score by maintaining a positive track record. For every 5 shifts worked without any violations, the employee's score will increase by 0.5 point. This reward system encourages consistent performance and adherence to Ideal standards.
- Score Reduction for Violations: Violations of company policies or performance standards will result in a reduction of the employee's score. The number of points deducted will vary depending on the severity of the violation. Examples of violations and their score deduction:
- No Show: 2 point reduction
- No Show for 1st Shift: 4 point reduction (30-day suspension)
- Unauthorized Late Arrival or Early Departure: 1 point reduction
- Missed Clock Ins / Outs: 0.5 point reduction
- Late Cancellation: 1 point reduction
- Negative Shift Feedback: 1 to 3 point reduction, depending on the severity of the feedback
Opportunity to Respond: All workers will have an opportunity to fully respond to any score reductions for violations. Ideal will not reduce your score until it provides both the worker and the client the opportunity to respond. All Ideal workers will also have the opportunity to appeal any score reduction.
Contrary to Law: Under no circumstances will your score be reduced if the motivation for the reduction is found to be discriminatory, harassing, or otherwise contrary to law.
Account Suspension and Termination: If a worker’s score drops below 5, your account will be suspended for 30 days. You will be unable to pick up shifts while in suspension. After your account is out of suspension (reactivated), you will start at 5 and be in a probationary period of 30 days. If your score drops below a 5 after 30 days of reactivation, it will result in termination. The employee will be informed of the reasons behind the score reduction and given the opportunity to appeal, but the final decision will be made based on company policy. In any event, misconduct / behavior of a sufficiently severe nature, or cumulatively severe nature, may result in other discipline, up to and including termination at the discretion of Ideal.
Appeals Process:
If a worker disagrees with a score reduction, they have the right to appeal. The worker must submit their appeal to support at workersupport@ideal.com within 5 business days of the score reduction notification. Support will review the appeal and any supporting documentation before making a final decision. The worker will be notified of the final decision in writing.
