Policy Overview
While Ideal expects all of its workers to uphold their shift commitments, we understand there may be times you need to cancel.
Policy
When you accept a shift, we expect you to do so in good faith and with the intent to work the shift. In the event you need to cancel a shift, you must provide as much notice as possible. When cancelling a shift, you must indicate the reason for the cancellation in the Ideal App. While shifts may be cancelled at any time, shifts canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice may impact your ability to work with certain clients or obtain certain shifts. Repeated late cancellations (i.e., cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice) may result in disciplinary action up to, and including suspension or termination, except where protected by any federal, state, or local law.
If you cancel a shift within 24 hours of the start time, but have a protected reason for doing so, such as an illness, jury duty, or other protected reason, you can reach out to WorkerSupport@ideal.com to provide your documentation, including a doctor’s note or other applicable documentation (unless prohibited by law) for why you needed to cancel the shift late.
