Policy Overview
Ideal believes that hiring qualified individuals to fill positions contributes to the overall success of Ideal and its Clients. Background checks serve as an important part of the selection process at Ideal. This type of information is collected as a means of promoting a safe and effective work environment for current and future Ideal Workers, its Clients, and its Clients’ Employees. Background checks also help Ideal obtain additional applicant related information that helps determine the applicant's fitness for particular positions.
Policy
Ideal uses a third-party agency to conduct background checks.
All offers of employment at Ideal are contingent upon the results of a thorough background check. Background checks will be conducted on all newly hired Workers.
Background checks may include:
- Social Security: Validates the applicant's social security number, date of birth and former addresses.
- Multi-County Criminal: May include counties of current or recent residence.
- Federal Criminal History: Checks district courts for any crimes committed in violation of federal law in district of current or recent residence.
- The following additional searches may be required if applicable to the position:
- Motor Vehicle: Provides a report on an individual's driving history in the state requested. This search will be run when driving is an essential requirement of the position.
- Credit History: confirms candidate's credit history. This search will be run for positions that involve management of accounts, funds and/or handling of cash.
Workers may be subject to ongoing or periodic background monitoring. The results of such monitoring may affect a Worker’s eligibility for continued employment with Ideal.
Procedure
After an employment offer is made, the candidate must complete the appropriate authorization/release form as part of the employment process. The candidate is not eligible to begin work prior to the approval of their background check.
Ideal will review all results and notify Worker the results of the check. In instances where negative or incomplete information is obtained, the background screening agency will alert the candidate of any issues, including a decision not to hire the candidate based on the results of a background check.
Periodically, Ideal’s background screening agency may alert Ideal to results of ongoing or periodic background checks for existing Ideal Workers. Upon receipt, Ideal may suspend the individual to assess the potential risks and liabilities related to the job's requirements and determine whether the individual should remain an Ideal Worker.
Ideal will follow all applicable FCRA requirements throughout the background check process. Any questions regarding FCRA must be directed to WorkerSupport@ideal.com. For anonymous reports, please visit ethicspoint.com.
