Attendance Policy

Policy Overview
Punctual attendance on site is important to the efficient operation of Ideal’s business. Unscheduled absences, late arrivals, and early departures for shifts, are disruptive to other employees and our customers. All Idealists are expected to arrive on time and work for the scheduled duration of the shifts they accept. This Policy outlines our guidelines for shift attendance and punctuality.

Policy
You are expected to arrive prepared and on time for the shifts you accept. You are also expected to remain at work for the duration of your shift, except as otherwise required by law or where permitted by an on-site client supervisor. Failure to comply with this Policy may result in disciplinary action including one or multiple point reductions in your worker score, suspension or termination.

Tardiness and No Shows
You will be considered tardy if you are more than 10 minutes late to a scheduled shift. Further, you will be considered a “No Show” if you are more than 30 minutes late to a shift and you did not cancel the shift prior to its start time. For additional details about cancelling a shift, please refer to the “Cancelling Shifts” section below.

In the event you arrive at a shift after the “No Show” period, you may be asked to leave the worksite. “No Show” workers who are asked to leave the worksite and do not perform any work will not be paid for the shift except where required by law.

In the event of a no show, you will be contacted and notified of a corresponding reduction in your performance score. You are required to respond to our communications to confirm your commitment to any upcoming scheduled shifts. If you fail to respond within a reasonable timeframe, Ideal reserves the right to remove future shifts from your schedule at its discretion.

Nothing in the policy will be interpreted to provide for discipline where the absence or leave is because of a protected ground. No discipline will be issued for conduct or absences protected by any federal, state, or local law. Ideal will excuse any absences protected by federal, state, and local laws, and will consider them on an individual basis. It is your responsibility to inform Ideal of any protected reasons for an absence.

Ideal Workers are required to follow the established punch policies for recording their actual hours worked. Work cannot begin until the posted shift time, or the start of other compensable time. A missed clock in/out is a violation of this policy, results in a 0.5 point reduction, and includes:

  • Failure to clock in/out within the Ideal app at the beginning and/or end of their assigned shift.
  • Failure to clock in/out on their designated time clock for the meal break.
  • Failure to accurately and timely report time worked.
  • Clocking in/out early (or late) of assigned shift without prior approval.

Ideal workers are able to cancel a shift up to the minute of the start time of the shift. However, a cancellation within 24 hours of the scheduled shift time will be considered a late cancellation. For additional details about cancelling a shift, please refer to the “Cancelling Shifts” section below.
