[Quickstart Guides](https://help.ideal.com/migration/workers?hsLang=en#quickstart-guides) # How to clock in and out for shift on Ideal App ## Clocking-in and out for a shift on Ideal You can access your shifts within the Schedule tab in the Ideal app. Clocking-in and out for a shift on Ideal You can access your shifts within the Schedule tab in the Ideal app.   1.  If it is **not** time for your shift to start, the “start button” will have a lock icon on it, indicating that it is not time to start your shift. ![](https://help.ideal.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Jan-15-2025-06-00-47-8274-PM.png?width=270&height=611&name=image-png-Jan-15-2025-06-00-47-8274-PM.png)   2.  When it is time to start your shift, press the “Start” button from the schedule screen. ![](https://help.ideal.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Jan-15-2025-06-01-17-0893-PM.png?width=283&height=621&name=image-png-Jan-15-2025-06-01-17-0893-PM.png) 3.  If your shift includes a meal break (see meal break policies for details), you will need to start your meal break by pressing the “Meal Break Start” button. If everything looks good, select “Confirm and end”.
